Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly: name, email, phone number, and company details submitted through our intake wizard or lead forms. We also run our own first-party, cookieless analytics to understand how the site is used (page views, referrer/source, and which steps of the signup funnel people reach). This uses a random per-session identifier held only for your current browser session - not a cookie, no cross-site tracking, and no third-party analytics service. We do not store your name, email, or IP address on these analytics records.

We also source some contact information from third parties before we ever reach out to you. For prospective members we identify as a plausible fit for the program, we may obtain your name, work email, employer, and job title from B2B contact databases (such as Apollo.io), and supplement that with information published on your public LinkedIn profile, collected on our behalf by a third-party data provider - not by logging into LinkedIn or connecting with you there. If you received an email from us but never signed up directly, this is very likely how we found you.

How we use it

We use your contact information to follow up on your software inquiries, deliver membership benefits (PitchBook access credentials, Zoho wallet credit setup), and send relevant product updates. Where we sourced your information from a third party rather than receiving it directly from you, we use it only to reach out about the membership program and to keep a record of that outreach. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Third-party partners

We share data with partners only as needed to fulfil your membership: PitchBook and Zoho receive the minimum information required to provision your access. We also use third-party services to help us identify and learn more about prospective members before we contact them for the first time: Apollo.io for business contact data, and a data-enrichment vendor operating on Apify's infrastructure for information published on public LinkedIn profiles. Each partner operates under their own privacy policy.

Cookies

We use session cookies only for authentication on the Member Portal. Our usage analytics are cookieless (see "Information we collect"), so we do not set advertising or third-party analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some features of the Member Portal may not function without them.

Data retention

We retain your contact and billing records for seven years to comply with US tax and accounting requirements. For prospective members we source but never successfully reach, or who never respond, we automatically delete the outreach record after a period of inactivity; if you ask us not to contact you again, we anonymize the record instead of continuing to hold your name and other identifying details, while keeping enough information to make sure we honor that request going forward. You may request deletion of marketing records at any time by emailing [email protected].

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA. If you are in the UK or European Economic Area, we rely on legitimate interest (UK/EU GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) as our legal basis for reaching out to prospective members using information sourced as described above; you have an absolute right to object to this processing at any time, and we will stop contacting you once you do. Wherever you are located, you have the right to know what data we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to have it erased; UK/EEA residents may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection supervisory authority. Contact us at [email protected] to exercise any of these rights or to object to being contacted.
